The Mental Load

Finding myself while raising them. Parenting comes with a lot of love, joy, and unforgettable moments but it also comes with a weight that many parents carry silently: the mental load. In this episode, we’re talking about the invisible work behind parenting-the constant remembering, planning, anticipating, and managing that often happens behind the scenes. I share my own experience navigating motherhood, career, pregnancy, and the never-ending list of things that live in my brain at all times. We’ll talk about why so many parents feel exhausted even when they’re “doing everything right,” why the mental load can impact our relationships and mental health, and how we can begin to release the pressure to carry it all perfectly. Because the truth is: parenting was never meant to be done while losing ourselves. In this episode, we talk about: What the mental load actually is (and why it’s more than just being busy) The invisible responsibilities parents carry every day Why feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re failing How the mental load impacts our patience, relationships, and sense of self The difference between someone “helping” and someone sharing ownership Small ways we can create more balance and give ourselves more grace A reminder for today: You are not behind. You are not failing. You are carrying a lot. And while we’re raising our children, we’re still becoming ourselves. If this episode resonated with you, share it with another parent who needs the reminder that they are not alone.
